So PokerStars has announced its 2017 Spring Championship of Online Poker schedule, but not to be outdone (well, it will be at least a little outdone), partypoker has also released some preliminary details for its big online poker tournament series this spring, Powerfest. Powerfest will run May 7th through May 21st and will feature more than 300 events (yes, more than THREE-HUNDRED) and more than $20 million prize pools.

As one might expect, with literally hundreds of events, everyone will be able to find something for them. Buy-ins range from $5.50 up to $25,500. One cool thing about that $25,500 Super High Roller event, scheduled for May 17th, is that partypoker will take no fees from it. Instead, the $500 fee from each entry will be donated to a charity chosen by the tournament’s winner.

Pokerfest has some parallels to PokerStars’ SCOOP. The events have different buy-in options; last Pokerfest, held earlier this year, each event had four tournaments with buy-in levels called Featherweight, Middleweight, Heavyweight, and High Rollers. Additionally, Pokerfest will have eight multi-phased tournaments. These tourneys have multiple starting flights, spaced out across more than one day. Everybody each day will play the same amount of time and later on in Powerfest, those who make it through will join together in a united field to play out the rest of the tournament.

The four PokerFest Main Events will be held on Sunday, May 21st. Here is the breakdown:

Powerfest #291 Main Event $50,000 Guaranteed – $11 buy-in
Powerfest #292 Main Event $100,000 Guaranteed – $55 buy-in
Powerfest #293 Main Event $1 million Guaranteed – $215 buy-in
Powerfest #295 Main Event $1 million Guaranteed High Roller – $1,050 buy-in

On the partypoker blog, the site’s Managing Director Tom Waters said of this spring’s Pokerfest:

We decided to go for it this time and increase the total guaranteed prizepool for the upcoming Powerfest to over $20 million. There are some fantastic new headline events in the series, including three $1m guaranteed editions of the Title Fight, a $2m charity event and eight phased tournaments covering a range of buy-ins. I’m confident that the players will love the variety of events on offer and will relish the opportunity to become a Powerfest champion.

In addition to two of the Main Events listed above, there are six other tournaments with guaranteed prize pools of at least $1 million. The largest guarantee is $2 million, in the previously mentioned $25,500 Super High Roller.
