For the 2018 schedule, the WSOP has decided to add nine new events. Five of these new nine are replacing former events common to the WSOP schedule. An example of this is the $10,000 Super Turbo Bounty No Limit Hold’em event. This tournament will take the place of the $10k Tag Team event.

The World Series of Poker returns to Las Vegas' Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino for the 49th edition of poker's most famous tournament series. Between May 30 and July 17, a record 78 WSOP gold bracelets will be on the line with buy-ins ranging from $365 all the way up to $1 million in a wide variety of games and disciplines.

Poker's premier event, the main event, takes place from July 2-14. The $10,000 no-limit hold'em tournament will be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2 and the PokerGo subscription streaming service. The defending champion, Scott Blumstein, outlasted a field of 7,221 players to win $8.15 million in 2017.

The $1 million Big One for One Drop returns to the WSOP in Las Vegas for the first time in four years, as the closing event of the series. Past champions include Antonio Esfandiari, Daniel Colman and Elton Tsang. The fourth edition of this tournament will be capped at 48 players, and will also air live on ESPN and Poker Go through its conclusion on July 17.

The 2018 World Series of Poker’s schedule of broadcasts has been released by Poker Central and ESPN. The preliminary information announced on Thursday, Feb. 15 covers the WSOP main event, which features everyday coverage from July 2nd – July 14th. In addition to the main event, ESPN will also broadcast the $1 million buy-in Big One for One Drop no-limit hold’em high roller tournament on July 16-17.

PokerGO will offer exclusive WSOP Main Event coverage that is not broadcast during ESPN windows. The full PokerGO WSOP streaming schedule will be revealed at a later date.

“Last year, both ESPN viewership and PokerGO subscription numbers were very strong throughout the WSOP Main Event,” said JR McCabe chief digital officer of Poker Central. “This year, we’re doubling down on live coverage of the World Series of Poker by adding the Big One for One Drop and bringing even more live poker to fans worldwide.”

“ESPN has a long-running relationship with the World Series of Poker, and we are always looking for ways to bring viewers the most preeminent coverage,” said Doug White, ESPN senior director of Programming & Acquisitions. “By doubling down on our broadcast and digital platform coverage, we’re going to bring fans and viewers even closer to the sport’s biggest events from all aspects and angles.”

In 2018 ESPN will broadcast at least 40 hours of live WSOP coverage on TV, with 130 hours of originally produced episodes. ESPN’s comprehensive broadcast of the WSOP will continue through 2020.

Wsop 2019 Updates

The press release from the WSOP noted that the schedules including dates, times, and specific events that are subject to change. All events will be streamed on a 30-minute delay with hole cards shown per gaming regulations.
